Week 31 - Crossing Boundaries Interdisciplinary Connections Andrews (1990) defines interdisciplinary collaboration as occurring  "when different professionals, possessing unique knowledge, skills, organizational perspectives, and personal attributes, engage in co-ordinated problem solving for a common purpose"   (cited in Berg-Weger &. Schneider, 1998). Who I have a new interdisciplinary connection with? A relatively new interdisciplinary connection I have is being part of a CoL.  The CoL is newly formed and is in an area where we have traditionally only met together for sports days/competitions. Teachers have had limited contact with each other in regards to teaching and learning and each school has guarded its resources, data, and ways of working.  As a group of staff we met recently to share what attributes we thought a student leaving school at 18 from our CoL would  need.  This was the first time many of the staff from the sur...

Week 32 Changes in my practice

Week 32 - Changes in my practice Criteria 4: Demonstrate commitment to ongoing professional learning and development of professional personal practice. Hard to believe we have come to the end of 32 weeks of learning that has been varied and challenging.  When I signed up for Mind Lab it was near the end of the registration time.  I had heard a little about Mind Lab but knew very little.  All of a sudden I was enrolled and about to begin.  What an interesting journey.  There have been challenges and lots of learning along the way. The digital content challenged me, I found each week I was introduced to things I had heard or read about but had not had the time to explore.  Although I realise the timeframes did not allow more in-depth learning in these areas I would have liked to have spent longer unpacking some of them further.
