Week 32 Changes in my practice
Week 32 - Changes in my practice
Criteria 4: Demonstrate commitment to ongoing professional learning and development of professional personal practice.
Hard to believe we have come to the end of 32 weeks of learning that has been varied and challenging. When I signed up for Mind Lab it was near the end of the registration time. I had heard a little about Mind Lab but knew very little. All of a sudden I was enrolled and about to begin. What an interesting journey. There have been challenges and lots of learning along the way.
The digital content challenged me, I found each week I was introduced to things I had heard or read about but had not had the time to explore. Although I realise the timeframes did not allow more in-depth learning in these areas I would have liked to have spent longer unpacking some of them further. I envied those that had several teachers from their school to work with outside of the contact time and then online learning to share and discuss ideas each week.
I have enjoyed the professional readings that have been available each week without having to search myself for them. The short clips provide a digital link and these have been great to refer back to.
Criteria 12: Use critical inquiry and problem solving effectively in their professional practice.
The professional readings about reflection and the five different levels was really helpful for not only my Mind lab blog reflections but also in considering ways of supporting staff in my school to reflect more effectively as part of the leadership team, we are developing ways of developing more critical thinking and reflecting.
Becoming a regular blogger has made me consider what I want to say in a succinct way and reference the readings. I have read many blogs and have tended to not contribute so making regular contributions as part of the requirements has helped me see it's an important of my professional practice.
Where to from here:
Prior to starting Mind lab I had completed two papers towards my Masters in Educational Leadership. I have found links between the last 16 weeks and one of the papers I had completed complemented each other and deepened my understanding. I now plan to continue on and finish my Masters.
